How old can a puppy be to have its dew claws removed?
allanimals21 asked:
I’m getting a lab puppy this week he will be 6 weeks old. He isnt going to have his puppy shots or his dew claws removed. I was wondering if I can still have the dew claws done yet?

I am not 100% sure but they usually due that around 2-4 days old. You need to call your local vets office and ask them.

The dew claws pose problem and they wont need to be removed around 23 days of age unless the dew claws are removed around 23 days of age unless the dew claws pose problem.

They can remove dew claws at almost any age. Once they get past 3 years though the vets do not like to preform the operation though. It will cost you more money to get an olde dog worked.

It’s done when they are a couple days old. At this point, I do not believe they can be removed.

Some breeds need their dew claws removed ( like Irish wolfhounds) and a lab I don’t think needs them taken of.
